Ruth Tretter is a distinguished nursing scholar passionate about enhancing equity and quality in healthcare through innovative approaches like telehealth and care coordination. As a Ph.D. student under Dr. Mary Nies, Ruth has demonstrated her commitment to making a significant impact in healthcare through research, education, and quality improvement. Her notable dissertation explores the healthcare experiences of recreational vehicle-dwelling American nomads, a study that has earned her the prestigious 2023 American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Excellence in Advancing Nursing Science Award. This recognition was awarded for her outstanding Ph.D. dissertation at an AACN member school, presented at the January 2024 AACN conference. Ruth’s work aims to shed light on the unique healthcare challenges faced by this community and to develop strategies that ensure their access to high-quality healthcare services.
